Remedy Fitness and Personal Training

Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

I'm Ryan, and I run Remedy Fitness and Personal Training from the Burlington, Vermont area. Training with me means sharing personal things, like your health history and your goals. This page explains what I collect, why, who helps me store it, and what you can ask me to do with it. It covers this website and the Remedy Fitness app.

The short version: I collect only what I need to train you safely and run the business. I don't sell your information, I don't show you ads, and I don't use tracking or analytics tools on the site or in the app.

If you tell me about someone else, like an emergency contact, your doctor, or a friend you refer, please make sure they're OK with it. I use their details only for that purpose.

How I use it

  • To check that exercise is safe for you, design your program, and adjust it over time.
  • To schedule sessions, send reminders, and send your workouts.
  • To bill you and keep financial records.
  • To answer your questions and improve the site and the app based on your feedback.
  • To send email updates, only if you've agreed to them. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • To meet legal duties and to protect you, me, and the business if there's a dispute or injury claim.

I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't share it with advertisers.

Who can see it

Me, and any trainer I bring on to help coach you. Trainers can see your portal so they can help you, and every time a trainer acts in your account it's recorded. Coaching notes are private to trainers.

I also use a few trusted services to run the site and the app. Each gets only what it needs for its job:

  • Supabase stores your account, training and nutrition records, photos, and medical clearance files.
  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Expo delivers updates to the Remedy Fitness app.
  • DocuSeal handles e-signatures and stores your signed forms, including the health answers in them.
  • Stripe processes payments and stores your card.
  • Cal.com handles booking consults and sessions.
  • Resend delivers the site's emails, like reminders, receipts, and sign-in emails.
  • fatsecret looks up foods when you search the nutrition log. It sees what you search for, not who you are.
  • Hevy only if you connect your own Hevy account. Your Hevy key is stored encrypted and used only to bring in your workouts.
  • A video-call service runs our live sessions. I don't record sessions without asking you first.

I may also share information if the law requires it, if it's needed to protect someone's safety in an emergency, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold, who would have to follow this policy.

Cookies, your browser, and the app

The site uses a small number of cookies to keep you logged in. It also remembers your light or dark setting in your browser, and keeps a draft of your intake form while you fill it out so you don't lose your answers. That draft is cleared when you close the tab. Stripe and Cal.com may set their own cookies on their pages. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

The app keeps you signed in by saving your sign-in on your phone, encrypted. It also remembers your light or dark setting and a few settings from the website so it opens quickly. Nothing in the app tracks you or shows ads.

How long I keep it

I keep your account and training records while you're a client. After you stop training, I keep signed waivers, health forms, and medical clearances for 7 years in case of an injury claim, and payment records for 7 years for taxes. Everything else I delete within 1 year of you leaving, or sooner if you ask.

Your choices

  • See or fix your information. Most of it is in your portal. Email me for a copy of anything else.
  • Delete it. Ask and I'll delete your account and data, except the records I'm required to keep (above).
  • Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email-list message. You'll still get emails about your sessions and billing.
  • Delete progress entries and posts. You can remove any weigh-in or lift, and any community post you made, yourself.

I'll answer requests within 30 days.

How I protect it

Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with services that encrypt it. Access is limited to trainer accounts, and each client can see only their own information. No system is perfect, but if a breach ever affects your information, I'll tell you promptly.

Who this is for

My services are for adults 18 and over. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The site is run from the United States, and your information is stored in the United States.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, I'll email current clients before it takes effect.

Questions

Email me anytime. I read every message myself.
